Skills Assessment - Section 2C

Continuing with the previous topic, which provided us with self-knowledge, this course will direct these efforts. This session aims to enhance what we are good at and to accept the things we are not so good at, taking into account everything we studied about ourselves in the previous topic.

We should categorize our skills on hards or softs, and also list and try to improve all skills that are transferable. Let me explain in parts.

First, transferable skills are those that you can use in different environments, but with the same purpose. A cleaning lady is able to work both in the domestic and in the hotel business by mastering a transferable skill: cleaning. In addition, this same ability can be recharacterized between soft or hard.

Hard skills are those that you can achieve, while soft skills are those that you are. For example: honesty is a soft skill, given that honesty is an intrinsic characteristic of a person. The ability to drive is hard, as people can perform and improve them.

Knowing yourself allows you to diversify the skills you have, the ones you want to acquire and categorize how to improve them and how to prioritize them for greater comfort and performance.

Finally, a great learning that I had during this class and that I would like to share is that "it is necessary to visualize the end before the beginning." For those who know where to go, paths can be selected. If you don't know where to go, any path will do. Even the one who doesn't help you.

Everyone have a professional background, but when you starting to ✍ about the activities that you did, and developed may support you to find a new position with different classification " name" in the local market. Then it is help me a lot and open my mind.

    1. If you know yourself, than it's way easier to know where you want to be and what type of effort you have to do to reach your goal. And if you already have a little bit of skill in the "new area of exploration", build your name on it isn't that hard. All you need is an opportunity to show yourself and, when you have it, grab it and don't let it go!

Thanks for take your time to come here and comment! I really appreciate it.
